As promised in my other post. Gratuitous re-use of pic from that post as a safety image. Just scraped and gouged up my right knee and elbow. Put some powder on to stop the bleeding, damn was that stuff tough to clean off. It was super fun though, haven’t earned any new scars since I was a teenager, so I’m really proud of myself. Need to get some pads though. Also, it’s incredibly difficult to take a decent picture of your own elbow without using a mirror.

The knee pic didn’t do it justice. It’s actually pretty deep and about 6mm at its widest. Nice solid stream coming out of it until I put that powder on.

Oh god, the worst That’s happened to me is irritation from all the plants On the trail. I’ve got a set of knee pads I should be using.

I’ve always worked on the basis that I haven’t done a job properly unless I’ve injured myself in amusing and creative ways. So congratulations on a job well done.

To be fair I was really moving, because awesome bike, and hit some very slippery leaf covered rocks at just the wrong time. If I had exercised any amount of caution this wouldn’t have happened. But it’s all good!

Ahh, that’s not too bad. I usually get something like that once or twice a year. You got to scrub them out really good to prevent the dirt tattoo that can form under the skin when it heals. Dig that horse thief. I have been on a Salsa Mamasita for many years, they make a nice bike.

Yeah no kidding. Scrubbing is the worst part. Very nice bikes. The place I rented from has the spearfish also, but they asked where I was going and said “oh, cool, you’ll need this then”. Very technical trail, so this was awesome.
